In a previously written article, we expanded the use of the term "Trading Baskets" to include stocks from different sectors or industries. Now I want to share with you an approach to day trading or swing trading that I had some success with back in the wild and woolly, pinnacle days of day trading that may still work today. Unfortunately, this basket of stocks was dubbed "The Crapolilo", a name it just could not shake. You'll see why.The crucial element that traders are looking for in any stock, which makes it a good day trade or swing trade, is movement or momentum. There are any numbers of things that can cause movement in a stock.

Usually it is news of some sort, either positive or negative. It doesn't really matter. You are only looking for movement, up or down. However, for this particular strategy we are looking for positive news. Keep in mind that it is not your job as a trader to totally understand why or what is causing the movement in a stock, beyond what it takes to make a quick profit. If you spend enough time glued to a computer monitor with CNBC blaring in the background and are looking for a stock to make a quick buck on, sooner or later you will realize that there are some familiar names that just keep popping up over and over again.

From these repeating names you may want to consider building your own Crapolio.Start by tracking the stocks that keep coming up over and over again. In this scenario the stocks for which we are looking usually play out the same way every time one of the stocks has news of some sort. Traders will jump on the stock, causing a mad scramble to get in on the move, and the stock will run up in price for a nice gain. The challenge is to be as early as possible on the play, get into the money (profitable), and get out before the momentum turns and the stock retreats. Rest assured, they will retreat because that is one thing all of the stocks we are looking for have in common; they hardly ever hold their gains.

If you're late to get in and even later to get out, you won't make a dime and will maybe even lose money. It is this phenomenon that the now famous Floyd's 4-Gets are based upon: Get In, Get Profit, Get Out and Get Away! So here's what I did, but remember that this strategy may or may not be right for you. I set aside a percentage of my trading capital for a basket of stocks that became known as "The Crapolio". I picked a large number of the stocks I had been tracking, low cost stocks under $5-$10 for the most part, but not always. I charted every one of them as far back as I could, looking for the ones that were most likely to continue to repeat the scenario.

I came up with what I thought was a recent low that was going to hold for some time; and I bought half the normal lot of shares I usually traded. (See link below to DTM: Decisive Trade Management and Trading Stops for lot sizes.) Then I waited. The theory is that sooner or later these stocks will once again have some sort of news event that will move them to the upside. As soon as that news hit, I would be in an excellent position having already bought the stock at a recent low. I would then try to buy an additional half lot or a full lot once the new news event hit the street. Overall, I would be in the shares much earlier on average and be able to take advantage of the move and sell for a profit into the momentum.

Being in the stock gave me the ability to lock in a nice profit without having to scramble to get in and scramble to sell before the momentum ran out.Often, I would be in the stock and the news would hit over night, causing the stock to gap up significantly at the market opening in the morning. However, this is not called "The Crapolio" without a reason. High quality stocks do not usually behave this way to the same degree. Those that do are much more expensive, usually $35 or more, making it cost prohibitive for all but the wealthiest traders to use this plan. As previously mentioned, most, if not all, of these stocks were under $10 and for a reason. These were not high quality stocks; in fact, the opposite was the case.

Most were high-risk speculative tech stocks or bio-techs. Many were dot-coms; remember this was in the hay-days of the dot-com boom. As we all know now, there were a lot more dot-bombs than there were successes. Obviously, this was my own version of Swing Trading.IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THESE WERE "NOT" BROKEN DAYTRADES. Each stock was chosen, charted and watched over a period of time before it was added to "The Crapolio".I believe this strategy could still work today.

However, it is to be considered extremely risky and should only be used with money you can afford to lose. When trading this or any day trading strategy one should know and use DTM: Decisive Trade Management (see story at http://www.traderaide.com/index.html).Happy trading! No permission is needed to reproduce an unedited copy of this article as long the About The Author tag is left in tact and included..

What's an item that can help you organize every room in your home, helps create the appearance that you're a tidy housekeeper (even if you're not), and perks up your decorating scheme?Need another hint?It comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and materials and can be found in many local retail stores, including craft stores and discount retailers, and at flea markets and craft shows and well basically it's a universal item found all over the world. You probably have one right now in your home. It's a basket! So the next time someone gives you one filled with anything from sweets to colognes, don't discard it once you've used what's in it. Once the items are gone, the basket's job has only just begun. Read onward to find out how to use this wonderful item in every room in your house. For instance, in the kitchen, you can use hanging wall pocket baskets, which have flat backs, to store dry sponges and scrubbers as well as pot holders, oven mitts, dry dish rags and spare kitchen hand towels. And in your family room or den, you might use a deep, round or cylindrical shaped basket on the coffee table to hold television or other electronic remotes.

A basket made of rags will slide without scratching (or put a doily underneath). (Imagine never losing the television remote again because you have an assigned place to put it in full view--that blends in with your home decor.)And in the bedroom, a wicker hamper with a lid in the closet can store extra pillows and keep them dust-free. If you see openings in the wicker slats or don't like your linens snagging on the inside of the basket, line the hamper with a sheet or large gallon trash bag.The ideas for using these globally designed and sold products that have been around for decades are infinite. And probably no product is so practical and useful as well as beautiful. (And modestly priced too!) Baskets are handmade works of art that are functional.

Imagine serving drinks on that glorious one-of-a-kind painting you have hanging on the wall. Not! But with baskets you can literally put your most unique artwork into daily usage and daily view.Baskets come in many sizes, shapes and materials such as willow, rattan, bamboo, rope, palm leaf, wire and rags. And many are adorned with metal garnishes, dried coco flowers, gugo vine handles and more. It's that variety of qualities that make baskets so easy to organize AND decorate with simultaneously. And you don't have to take a basket as it comes. Dress up any of your baskets by gluing on your own garnishments.

For example, craft stores sell all types of trinkets you can glue on your baskets. Be creative. Try personalizing your baskets with anything from buttons to plastic candy canes to miniature toy figures or mini cloth stockings. You could also buy miniature toys and figurines from typical large discount retailers or smaller dollar stores. (What fun to do by yourself or with your children).

And when you're done, you can still put that basket to work in an organizational function in your home---only it will have twice the value to you (the purchase price plus the priceless sentimental value).(c) 2004 Karen Fritscher-Porter.

Many of us dream of working from home, spending more quality time with our families. I decided to do just that. Yes i was afraid of failing, not being able to handle the pressures of running a business, and looking after my family at the same time. So I began my search for the right business to start, GIFT BASKETS! I use to give them for gifts to family members, so I thought why not make money while doing something I loved. STARTUPAs with any new business, you will have to make a number of decisions.

What types of baskets will you offer? If you are working from home do you have enough space for creating your baskets? What is your target market? And most of all how will you reach them? If you plan to start on a shoestring budget, start slow and work from home. running your business from home will allow you to save on overhead expenses.Income PotentialYour income potential depends on how hard you work and market your business. Industry insiders estimate potential revenues to range from 10,000 annually working part time from home.Your Gift BasketsYou can either offer a wide selection of gift baskets, or focus on a smaller market. Some of the common gift baskets being offered include the following:Gourmet/Food Gift Baskets. These are the most popular gift baskets businesses give to their clients, friends and family.Bath And Body Gift Baskets.

These are very popular! Ingredients of these baskets include toiletries like scented soaps, fragrances, olis, lotions, and aromatherapy products. These are just a few selections of gift baskets offered, the list goes on.InventoryYou inventory level should alway grow as your sales grow. Start small, keeping inventory at a relistic level. You can purchase inventory for your gift baskets either wholesale or retail. I would advise buying at wholesale price, because you may buy in quantities..

Spring is on it's way and even though it may already be tempting to spend the day outside, take a few hours to clean out your closet. You'll be glad you did when it is finally time to dig out those t-shirts and shorts. Before you start: Try to have all your clothes washed and in your closet before you start, so you have a good idea of what you actually own at this point. Wear some comfortable cloths and turn on some up beat music. Grab a couple of rags and some all-purpose cleaner to wipe off shelves and rods in your closet.

Grab a couple of large trash bags and a few empty laundry baskets. Start out by sorting everything into three piles.

Things you will throw away or use as rags.
Things you will give away.
Things to keep.

Make these piles outside of your closet. With the closet empty, take some time to wipe all the shelves off with a rag and some all-purpose cleaner or some soapy water. If you have wooden shelves, use a dusting spray or a barely damp cloth. If you're not sure what you can use on your shelves, just give it a good dusting. Take some time to sweep or vacuum the floor as well.

Don't forget to wipe the rods and clothes hangers as well. Take a look at your three piles. If you are anything like me, pile 1 and 2 are probably pretty small and almost everything in your closet ends up in pile 3. Time to go over the pile again. Here are a few "rules" to help you figure out what's worth keeping: If you haven't worn something in 9-12 months it is probably not worth hanging on to.

You may like the looks of a particular sweater, but end up not wearing it because it itches. Or you found a blouse you love, but haven't been able to find anything to go with it. If you don't have a very good reason to keep it, give it away or toss it. Do you have a pair of pants or a dress that is several sizes to small, but you keep telling yourself that you will fit in it one of these days? I know this is hard, but be honest with yourself. Are you going to lose enough weight in the near future to fit in it? If you think you will, give yourself 6 months to fit into those cloths.

Put them in a bag with a dated note. Set yourself an email reminder, or keep a note on your fridge to check back 6 months from now. If the cloths still don't fit, toss them or give them away. Look over your keeps pile again. Do you notice several similar items? Do you have 6 pairs of black dress slacks, 3 pink sweaters etc? Do you really need 6 pairs of black pants? Pick 2 or 3 of your favorites, or the ones that are in best shape and toss the rest.

Do the same with the sweaters. Pick one to keep. Don't forget to look through your socks and undergarments as well. Get rid of anything you wouldn't want to be seen in. Spend a few dollars on some new items if you don't have much left when you are done.

Now it is time to put your keepers back in the closet. Take a few minutes to figure out what goes where best. Divide your clothes by season and keep them together accordingly. It will make it easy to switch your spring and summer items to the back of the closet in the fall. A few last tips for those of us tempted to pull stuff back out of the do-not-keep piles.

If you are planning on using some items as rags, go ahead and cut them up now. You can keep them in a plastic bag or small cardboard box in your cleaning supply closet. Take the bags to be thrown away or given to charity as soon as possible. The longer they sit around the house, the more tempted you will be to dig something back out. That's it.

With a little luck you'll have enough room in your walk in closet to actually walk into it at this point. You may have found clothes you forgot you had and you should have a much better idea of what's actually in your closet. Give yourself a pat on the shoulder for a job well done and go enjoy the first spring days outside..

Spring?. Fresh breezes through open windows, sleeping trees come awake with bright new leaves, flowers begin to bloom and the grass becomes green once more. Now along with the obvious, there is another sign that the season has arrived, our yearly pledge to clear the clutter and organize our homes. I'm not sure why this happens, maybe we humans after months of cold, gray winter days are over come with the feelings of clean, fresh and new. Well, whatever the reason, we always start with good intentions, but like those New Years Resolutions, many of us rarely follow through.

So let's try something new this year by making a pledge to really get stuck in and finally accomplish our task. The following are a few ideas and tips to help make the "Clear The Clutter" task a little easier and maybe even fun. 1. One Room At A TimeThe first thought to keep in mind is that this particular project is not one you can hurry up and have done by yesterday. By working through one room at a time, you will have a much better chance of successfully completing the job.

Here is a thought to keep in mind. "You did not accumulate all your stuff in a day, so why does it have to be cleared out in a day". 2. Sort Items Into CategoriesYour first step will be to sort items into the following 3 categories, it will make the task go a lot easier. a) Have to Keep b) Maybe? Not 100% Sure c) Definitely Not Once you have completed this part of the project, you will more than likely find the "Definitely Not" pile is the smallest one.

What is it a professional might call this "Separation Anxiety"? However, don't worry, almost everyone ends up this way, after all it is not easy parting with our things, even if it is something you have not used in years. 3. Re-Sort Once MoreTry to be as realistic as possible here, remember the goal is to "Clear The Clutter". a) Not Sure Group This group is easy: If it is already here, more than likely, you will never use it so into the "Definitely Not" pile it goes. b) Have To Keep This could be the hardest pile to sort, so a tip to remember: If you have not used something in the last year, chances are you probably will not use it again.

This applies to everything from shoes to car cleaners; however if there is something you never use but has a special memory attached, keep it. Gifts can be a tricky area, one thing to keep in mind just because someone gave you something, it does not mean you must keep it forever. So that figurine that great aunt Edna gave you years ago or the bird made of shells from a friends vacation does not need to keep collecting dust on your bookcase. Now, you may wonder about things from your children. I use to keep everything my daughters brought home from school.

Finally, I decided to go through and keep one or two items from each grade, put them into a plastic storage box labeled Sherri & Ashley ? School ? K-12. Now all school memories are safe and in one place, this is a useful idea for grandparents. Once you have finished your resort, you have a couple of choices for those "Definitely Not" items, depending on their condition, either just pitch them, give them away or have a tag sale and make yourself a little money. 4. Organize & Store What Is LeftNow is the time to put what is left away, by organizing you will not only have tidy shelves, closets and cabinets but you will be able to put your hands on what ever it is you need.

There are numerous storage options for every room in your home. Plastic boxes come in a variety of sizes and colors and are inexpensive. Stacked on a closet shelf, clear smaller sizes make perfect storage for extra shoes, winter gloves, pictures or how about extension cords, nails, packages of hooks or hand tools. Larger sizes can keep extra winter coats, blankets, odd season clothes or seasonal decorations neat and in one place. Baskets, hampers even seldom used suitcases can be useful, stacking plastic milk crates are perfect for kids room.

How about those cluttered kitchen cabinets, plastic tiered risers work wonderful for stacking cans of soup, veggies or spaghetti sauce, this makes use of wasted space and you are able to see at a glance what you have.

Gift Baskets make great gifts for every occasion; they are fun to give and fun to receive! Have you ever wondered how to make a beautiful, professional looking Gift Basket? Well, you are about to learn how!Since you have probably already decided who you are giving the gift basket to, and for what occasion, then the first step is to write down a list of your recipient's interests. By making a list like this, you can decide what kind of theme your gift basket will have, and what kind of gift items you will include. Does your recipient like cooking, gardening, reading, golfing, fishing? Is the gift basket intended for a specific occasion such as the birth of a new baby, or a particular holiday? The answer to these questions is where you will begin to make your own gift basket.Pick a container. You can use a traditional basket as your container, or you may want to use something entirely different. If you are making a gardening gift basket, why not choose a clay pot, or if you are making a fishing gift basket, you could use a tackle box as the container.

You could use a colander for a cooking "gift basket", or an Italian theme basket. You could use a child's small wagon, or a large toy truck as a container for a child's gift basket. The possibilities are endless! Just let your imagination run wild. Now, refer back to the list of themed gift items you made earlier. You will use these items to build your basket. Adding pre-packaged food items into your basket is always a good idea! People love treats! You can also use, wine, champagne, nuts, non-perishable cheese spreads, crackers, popcorn, candy, or whatever special items your recipient likes to snack on.

If you are making a basket for a new baby, you could use baby powder, baby shampoo, baby bath wash, hooded towels, bottles, rattles, receiving blankets and the like. Pre-packaged food mixes, such as pancake mixes, brownie mixes, cookie mixes and so forth make great items for housewarming baskets. Maybe you could use a skillet as your container, and add some wooden spoons, potholders etc. Let your creativity flow! Now it is time to begin to assemble your gift basket. Here is a list of items you will need, they are all available at your local craft store:1.

A Container (basket or something else)2. Foam blocks, newspaper, bamboo skewers, clear tape, scissors, wire cutters, GlueDots (optional)3. Your gift items4. Silk flowers, eucalyptus stems, or other items to "enhance" the basket.5. Cellophane wrap, wired ribbon (for the bow), and shred or curling ribbon to match the general color scheme of your gift. You need a base in the container to stabilize and place your items.

You can use floral foam blocks (available at any craft store), or you can use craft paper, or newspaper. If you are using foam blocks, cut the block to fit inside your container, you might have to cut the blocks in several pieces and them connect them together with bamboo skewers. Be sure to leave a little space between the interior edges of the basket, and the foam. Place some wadded up newspaper in the bottom of your container to set the foam blocks on top of. You might want to wrap the foam in tissue paper first, although this is not necessary, but it will keep the green foam off of the gift items.

Now use the bamboo skewers and the tape to place "stakes" on the back of each gift item. Make sure to leave about 1-1 ?" of the stake hanging over the edge of each item. This is how you will stake the item into the foam so that it won't move around. Place taller gift items in the back of the basket, and smaller items toward the front. Before you "stake" the gift items, set them up in the basket to see which items will fit best where.

Design with an eye for an overall pleasing shape to your basket, distributing the weight of gift items evenly. Tip: Layering items at different heights in the container makes the overall design more pleasing. To do this, simply leave more of the bamboo skewer hanging over the edge of particular items, so that they appear taller when you stake them into the foam.As an alternative to using bamboo skewer "stakes" to place your items, you can put pieces of wadded up newspaper in the container, and then use your hands to smash down "pockets" in the newspaper (or craft paper) where your items can be placed. You can then use GlueDots to hold the items in place. You would put one or two GlueDots on each item, and then secure it to the item next to or to the container itself.

Tip: make sure that you don't put too many heavy items all in the back of the container, as it will make the basket tip over. After all of your items are secured in the container, fill in the empty spaces with shred (available at craft stores) or curling ribbon. Now you can really get creative! Use the silk flowers, eucalyptus stems, or other items you bought as enhancement, and place them into the foam around the sides, and along the back edge of the basket. This is the finishing touch for your beautiful gift! Now it's time to wrap the basket in cellophane. Spread the cellophane out on a flat surface, placing the basket in the center. To cut to the desired length, hold up one end of the cellophane, and the other end that is still attached to the roll, and bring them together above the basket, making sure to leave at least 5-6" extra cellophane above the top of the basket.

After you have cut the cellophane from the roll, bring both ends together above the basket, then pull up the other sides of the cellophane so that all of it meets in the middle above the basket. Take a piece of curling ribbon, and tie the gathered cellophane together with this. Now gather the excess cellophane above the curling ribbon into a bunch. Cut the bunch straight across leaving 4-5" of cellophane above the curling ribbon. Now you can fluff out the remaining cellophane above the curling ribbon.

Finish the basket with a beautiful hand-tied bow using the wired ribbon!Congratulations! You did it, and I bet it looks great!.

Having an eye catching website is great, but are you optimizing your website to allow the best performance possible? I receive several emails a day from clients asking how they can get more hits to their websites, what can be done to increase sales, and how to prepare their sites for search engines. There are very simple things that can be done to help your website perform its best.First of all, a websites load time is important for many reasons. No one wants to site and wait a minute for a page to show up. Slow loading websites can attribute to lost sales for your business! Many customers will actually avoid a website that takes a long time to load. You can keep your websites load time down drastically but keeping the size 26kb or smaller.

If you are unsure of the size if your site you can calculate the size of your web page by highlighting the HTML document, then click on 'File' and 'Properties' and see your file size. Then repeat same step for each graphic you have on that page. Add each file size together to get the exact size of that page. One of the easiest ways to get a faster loading page is to shrink the images on your website. A GIF graphic can normally be reduced by around 30-40% without loosing any sharpness.A site that contains broken links gives a bad impression to your visitors and can be a cause of lost visitors.

Aside from the fact that broken links look unprofessional, some of the major search engines and portals may not index your page if it has broken links or missing images. You should check your website once it is complete to make sure every link is working properly, to avoid a possible business loss.Search engines do not index images, so it is a good idea to always add ALT tags to your images to make sure the search engines recognize all of the content on your site. ALT tags that contain keywords can also be used to increase your keyword frequency and help you achieve better rankings. When creating meta tags do NOT repeat the same key word several times. This is called 'keyword spamming' and it is disliked by the search engines. Let's say your website offers gift baskets, use the keyword 1 or two times and that is it.

If your keywords are baby gift basket, hostess gift, wedding basket, corporate gift basket, holiday gift basket, you have repeated the keyword gift and basket to many times. You can minimize your keyword characters by using gift basket, wedding, gifts, baby, wedding, corporate, and holiday. This way your website is not considered keyword spamming. Many designers often separate keywords with commas. Instead of separating each keyword with a comma, just separate them using a space. By doing this, it will allow the search engines to combine your keywords into phrases, for people who use phrases to search. These are very simple things that will help you see a big difference!.
